My friends have been asking me if I am going to buy GT6. Is it worth getting the game now, especially when it seems that GT7 is looming in the difference. Also, I currently have a PS4 and hope to get GT7 for it, but the G27 is not compatible with it, I am still wondering if it is worth getting the wheel for GT6. What do you think?

Go rent it first and try it out. My friends are split between GT6. Or better yet, borrow a copy from your friend so it doesn't cost you anything.

I think that's a good place to start. Did you rent it before you bought the game? I guess I will end up saving more money that way, plus I'll get to find out what the game is really about. I don't know why my friends are so crazy over GT6. Well, let's see if I am going to be a crazy fan over GT6 too, after I rent it.

GT 6 is definitely worth it even if you prefer Forza series. It's worth your time for sure. You should give it a go.

If you enjoyed previous games of the series, you should enjoy this one too. You can't know for sure if you haven't tried it.

It's one of the better serious, competitive racers out there if you're not a fan of unrealistic racers like Need For Speed. The multiplayer is fairly active as well. Do check it out if you're into such a game!

I am a suspicious person to ask that because I love to try all new games, but like Josh says if you're on a budget try it from a friend before buying, this way you'll know if it's worth it.

That's a pretty hard question to ask. Games like Gran Turismo almost always have a new version coming out every few years. Gran Turismo 6 is already 2 years old. And you know GT7 for the PS4 will come around at some point.

So if you're an impatient person, Gran Turismo 6 is worth it. As a game itself, it's definitely worth every penny. And buying it now at the reduced price, you're certainly going to get your money worth and then some.

And if you're not looking to jump into the PS4/XB1 era of gaming just yet, then that would make GT6 even more worth it for you.

Purely down to the newer handling model I would say yes, it's worth buying. I'd recommend not using racing softs though as (for me at least) it kills the fun of trying to get the best from the cars.

I am glad I did. New tracks and cars alone are worth it. If you do get it, make sure to get the anniversary edition.
I got it today at GameStop. The extra cars are pretty cool. Also make sure you do the seasonal for the Hudson and BMW. Bronze or better wins that car. Finally go to Vision GT > Mercedes and get that free car, you wont be disappointed

If you find it cheap (like $40-50), then definitely. The game is awesome and it has a huge online community, so if you like Drag Racing, or anything else, there will probably be a lobby up with people who like the same thing you do!

The best way to satisfy your curiosity is to rent it, save your progress in case you do like it and decide to buy it. this is a process you should do with any game actually.

It should be like $30 on Amazon. You should go ahead and pick it up just for a taste. It'll also make you appreciate GT7 much more.

Honestly i think gran turismo is worth it, i mean it is the only "good" racing game on the Playstation. The variety of cars and tracks in the game are good and will definitely take up a lot of your time, thus making it worth your money. The driving physics are also very good, not forza or iracing good tho :)

If you don't have GT5 and haven't recently played any similar games, yep, get it. And although GT7 seems "around the corner", from what I know we won't see it for months. So, what are you going to be playing until, say, next Christmas? Tomb Raider? Metro Redux?

They're nice and swell games (TR and Metro), but if you need your "realistic racing", you've already got a PS3 and don't have any good racing games around, I'd say hit it. Get it and lose yourself in it's CaRPG action. And when GT7 comes around, just don't buy it right away if you're still bored from GT6 you'd be playing up to then. Let your copy gather some dust on a store's shelve, with its price dropping, playing other stuff, until you can buy it half-price and love every bit of it again.

That's what I do, anyways.

Since you can get GT6 for so cheap nowadays, you should absolutely pick it up. It's a great game that excels in most areas without being disappointing in any particular area. You could do far worse with racing games.

Grand Turismo 6 does focus on car quanity and it has something like over 1200 cars- and offers cars from the years 50s to the 70s and till 2010. Also GT6 handling is realistic and responsive, but the handling differs from car to car.
