Grid Series: Your thoughts?

I've played a few races in each of the Grid games, and the games are fine, but they're nothing special (to me). What do you think about the handful of games in this racing series?

I never tried them out but from what I've read online the people say that there aren't anything special. What games do you recommend for us to try to get a feel for the franchise?

While I found GRID (the original) to be pretty bland and boring, GRID 2 was really fun in my opinion. Still, it didn't manage to get my attention for more than a weekend.

Oh, thanks for the video! The game looks solid, I wonder why it doesn't get too much recognition. Oh, and by the way - the guy that was driving is really, really terrible.

I've never played them but I've heard that a lot of people praised them, especially the night racing because many have said that it's a terrifying experience going down the Mulsanne straights at Le Mans in the dead of night on this game as the night is actually almost pitch black.

I wish I had tried it.

It does look great but so do their competitor's games, and a lot of them have more marketing and backing or are already established titles, so they really have to do something unique to help them standout.

For some strange reason the first GRID was terrible for me. When I played the second I actually enjoyed it. Then we I had some friends play with me and it was exciting. So, the game isn't bad at all but it wasn't something I would call the best out there.

Yeah for something basic you really need to up yr game to separate yourself from the rest. Other racing games with more features are able to get away with more but if it's just basic you better be the best at it.

I don't think they aimed that high from the start to be honest, they probaby wanted to test the waters with a prototype (kind of like what Ubisoft did with Assassin's Creed). Too bad they didn't really improve that much.

Yeah it really does seem like the type of title that always turns out to be kind of a filler, but still is a nice game overall I think.

I would like to say just one word for the Grid series and the word is 'Fantastic'. This series was pretty successful in the world of racing games when it was released and I liked the game too. I have always been fan of the developer Codemasters and this series is one the amazing racing game series that I have played

The series as a whole to me was fun to watch someone else play, but not fun to play myself. The controls were very loose, which might've just been my sensitivity, but either way it made it less than fun to play. The career mode got a little boring after a while, it feels very repetitive. It may be fun for others, but for me the series left so much to be desired and could've been better.

Grid series are nothing short but great. They haven't been hair raising in the past, but there are on the rise and seem to have been making some pretty respectable games.

Interesting mechanic, so you can go back and replay from a certain point if you mess up? Not bad, but seems too good! The speedbreaker mechanic of NFS Most Wanted is also good but not as good!

I personally liked it a lot because of the cars, graphics, landscapes on every track, the game is just amazing, I still play it but not too often because it somehow got me bored, however I highly recommend it to anyone.

Seems like the new games are getting some praises here. Makes me want to check it out. I'll probably give it a try someday soon now. I hope it's something I can find appealing even for an arcade type race fan.

The grid games are arcadey but the career mode is really well done and the faux social medial which they create using sites like YouTube and Twitter is really awesome, so overall the game is fun to play, my favourite of the series is Grid Auto sport.

I've played and loved all the Grid games. They have a really good balance of sim and arcade that make them a joy to play. The weakest one is Grid 2 and it was still a great game in my opinion.

Grid 2 is really a special game for the users. Grid 2 features numerous games modes to choose from, including and not limited to drifting, overtaking as many cars as you can and so on.
