The launch of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is just a stone's throw away and players are eager to get into the new lore and gameplay. Promising uncountable minigames and side content, the studio has set its eyes on mimicking a game hub theory. One of these anticipated games is the Chocobo racing minigame.
Chocobo racing has been pointed out as the minigame with the most changes from the original Final Fantasy 7.
“We've adapted the Chocobo race into a very modern racing game, so that’s quite a big difference from the original,” the game director Naoki Hamaguchi said.

The developer previously revealed that chocobos will be able to wear a wide range of equipment to boost their stats, and will race on a wide variety of courses. It was revealed at the time that players would be able to spend "copious" hours racing chocobos.
