I've never played Vice City Stories, but I heard about it but just never picked it up. I would like to know if Tommy Vercetti is at least in it in some capacity? I imagine Ray Liotta wasn't interested in reprising his role for a small part, but did it happen at all? If not, was Vercetti mentioned throughout the game at all?

I'm probably going to play it one of these days, just not sure when that day will be.

He definitely makes an appearance, he is even the main player character. Did you know that you can read in the graffiti in GTAIV that the same Tommy Vercetti has passed away?

See, I hadn't played Vice City Stories either and didn't realize that Vercetti would be the main character again. Whenever I saw the character they didn't look like him to me. Weird. Sad that he's dead by IV, but then it's a rough world.

Yes he does make an appearance and you get to play as him for some part of the game. Haven't you played it yet?

He was not in Vice City Stories guys, he was the main protagonist in Vice City, but he was nowhere in Vice City Stories, you play a completely different character, who was Victor Vance the brother of Lance Vance. Tommy Vercetti is not in the game because it takes place 2 years before Vice City. Looks like you guys are talking about Vice City and not the sequel Vice City Stories released on the PSP and later ported to the PS2.

Ha ha. That's what I was thinking. I went out and bought Vice City Stories because I liked Vice City so much (I couldn't play it for long though, the graphics were unbearable), but I was pretty sure that Tommy wasn't in this one, he still would have been in prison.

I haven't played it either, but I was also curious about that. I know that Vice City Stories is one of the few GTAs that has an African American protagonist. ...I honestly don't know much else. It's embarrassing.

Hah, that's amusing. His name rhymes. Oh, Rockstar and their sense of humor. Anyway, it takes place two years before? I didn't know that. I haven't played the game either, honestly.

Vice City Stories is set like 2-3 years before Tommy came to VC, I'm pretty sure he was in prison during this time.

You get to play with him quite a big amount of missions there, haven't you played the game yet? If you haven't, I advise you do so.

Some of you don't realize that Vice City and Vice City Stories are 2 different games, just set in the same city, but with different characters and story. Tommy Vercetti makes no appearance in Vice City Stories.

Wow, that is definitely something I should've realized before. However, I know that Vice City and Vice City Stories are two different games, I believe that Tommy Vercetti appears only in Vice City.

If Vice City Stories is as good as GTA Vice City, then I should give this game a try, Since so far I have only played and completed 2 GTA games.
