Better than the original?

I'm sure there's been threads about this but I figured It wouldn't hurt to make a new one. Been playing VCS again on PS2, and I cant help to think to myself that its better than Vice city. The addition to Jet skis, zombies, all the businesses you can buy then upgrade. You get a better feeling of being Scarface in this one. I also think the graphics look better even though they are upscale PSP graphics. Better missions, The character models look great, also phil collins.

I honestly agree with you. I liked Vice City Stories more to be honest, which is why I'm sad there is no PC version.

Vice City was way better than this one in terms of story and, the missions felt more exciting as well and you felt like you were living the Amercian dream as well. In Grand theft auto Vice City stories the game felt more upgraded and could do more as well like swimming as in the original it was not possible to do that. I liked that you could buy more business's and could get returns on it and profit as well, the story is not a strong one and could of been improved otherwise a good game.

I certainly agree with you. The businesses mechanic in VSS is what probably made it my favorite GTA game. I found it extremely fun, being able to grow your empire and increase your income was a very good addition to the game. I really hope future GTA games include this mechanic.

Nah. I like the original better. It's just a certain feel attached to it which I can't let go. I kind of grew up with this game, and I consider VC Stories a copy of it. So nope.

No, not really. I don't share you feelings about VCS; I like the original better. The missions feel more complex and vivid, and the main character is more interesting.

I liked VCS better than VC. Reasons: very interesting story and characters, map additions and fixes like better looking palms, more vibrant colors suiting Miami theme, swimming and some others I don't have in mind right now.

By the way there is Vice City Stories mod for PC which as far as I know tries to make complete port from VCS to PC, including cutscenes, missions and map features.

I don't think VCS is better than the original. Vice City stories felt more like a less charismatic Vice City. Then again, this might be my nostalgia glasses preventing me from seeing improvements.

I think it could be better than the original but I'm not sure if it makes a lot of difference in some ways. After all, Vice City is old and I don't know if it will survive long enough, there's better ones out there now, in terms of graphics and gameplay.

I completely agree with you! Those missions couldn't be treated seriously as they didn't have that serious tone, whereas VC was more intriguing and possessed a better storyline.

I've played a little on a friend's psp, and it seemed better than how I rememberd vice city from the PC. I really wish they would've made a PC version for. Too bad they didn't .

I get undecided because I really like both versions: the original and the Vice City. I would say 50% to 50% for me, to be honest. It would be a fair answer considering my choices.

They all have their pros and cons and when it comes to picking them sometimes it just depends on my mood. Sometimes I like driving more and certain ones are better there.

It depends on the version as every version has different features and options. So we cannot be specific about the single one but if you ask for choosing an option then they both are having the same rating. I love both of them.

Well I can agree that it depends on a lot of things. I try not to base things too much off of the ratings, although at a certain point they do reflect someones opinion.

I think it depends on the rating as the rating depends on the people's choice. I think we should give it a try before telling our opinion. I am fine with all as I don't have a problem with original too.
