Series you wish they'd end

Like the title says, are there any game series you think are just way past their prime, and you'd like to stop being made? And if so - why?

For me it's got to be Resident Evil. They're no longer survival horror, and RE6 was just awful. They seem to have run out of ideas, and I think Capcom should just give up at this point.

Mine would be Call of Duty series, milking money out of its players. I think Battlefield is much better, and while it does milk players from money too, with the DLCs and Premium, bottom line its game play is better, in my opinion. Also, they actually change things between games, and not just add 5 polygons to each model, a few new guns and a campaign. Also, they don't release a new game from the same series every year (BF4 is 1.5 years, if I'm not wrong, and its the first time that happened.)

God of War. I think they need to put an end to the story of Kratos on the PS4 and move on to something new. I don't know how many back stories and prequels they could do but I just feel that the series is starting to get a bit old.

Marvel vs Capcom should definitely end. The newer ones are just getting worse and worse. While it's still pretty good I can definitely feel the quality of the game slipping with characters just getting faster and more "special" while it just gets easier to make combos instead of the utter skill you needed in the earlier ones.

Agreed. I played the PSP ones after the PS2 ones, and felt like it could've stopped there. I couldn't make myself play 3, way too many QTEs, got sick of it a couple of hours in and didn't go back.

I think most fighting series could be ended. There's not really much they can do to change the games up.

I'm going to disagree with this, really. If you don't take the multiplayer into account, at least they do offer new campaigns.

Any sports game series and Call of Duty. The sports franchises like NBA or NHL was prolonged their games to an extenet where, it's not fun anymore, it's just way too tedious. It was fun at first, but the next few games were basically the same thing, repeating the same mistakes over and over. Call of Duty is there just to give milk you out of money and it's just getting really annoying with us, gamers out there, ever since Modern Warfare 3 when Infinity Ward let us down heavily.

Call of Duty by far. Activision is just using it as a cash-cow to milk money from the little kids and try hard gamers who whine about having no skill in other FPS games such as Halo and Battlefield. It was quite fun at first, but then it soon ended up being a yearly release of the exact same game with different weapons and different maps. You're just playing the same game over and over again with little graphical difference even, so why not just release these as DLC since they are on the exact same game engine?

FIFA games and other sports game.

They come out every year and change only one thing and charge 50 bucks.
Hey I love FIFA and well any sports person love there sports game and love when the new versions that come out because its even better and so what if there are only a few changes, a few changes that make a big difference though, have you ever played FIFA?

I hope they stop putting out a new version every year. They improve the graphics, change a few things about the gameplay that the fans never wanted changed anyways and make you pay for it. All of my friends buy most of the games they play except FIFA. They pirate the game because EA is ripping them the fans of with the game anyways.

Putting one out every 3 years or something would be better.

And changing teams/kits could be done via DLC.

Definitely. Frankly, this is the only change that makes the hardcore fans pick it up and I wouldn't blame them. I mean even I can't imagine playing with Manchester United and not having RVP in the team but damn it, why do I have to buy a new game for that.

I think it would be pretty awesome if they name GTA V as the last in the series. It's doing so well, it'd be great to end off on a high note. Maybe they could look at other alternatives to it being a game - turn the series into an amusement park or something wild like that.

Interesting! Going out on a high would be good.

I definitely agree with you about Resident Evil series. It's just enough. Every new one is more boring than the last one. They even released a Shoot 'Em Up version of resident evil but it failed, as they all do now.
