Question about armor

Hey, I have a question about armor. Does heavy/super heavy armor slow down cars/increase handling time? I want the protection of body armor but I don't want to slow down cars. Also is there any benefit to having slower tiers of armor such as light over the higher tiers?

If it does slow down cars, I've never really noticed it. I'm pretty sure that armor doesn't affect a car's speed or handling in any way whatsoever.

P.S. I verified this through some testing and research a few weeks ago. No effect whatsoever.

I highly doubt that it'd affect the car speed and such. Surely, GTA V is a very detailed game and I love that about it but this seems a bit overboard. I don't think you have to worry.
