Picking favorite cars?

@OP Count me in! :p
As long as there is nothing at stake, like if I'm in a tournament or in a ranked game on online ladder, I will pick any car that I want, regardless of the tracks or who I'm playing with! It's more fun that way :)

I usually start out that way, but I'll usually go for the best performance car. I do get what you are saying. It's always more fun to play with a good looking car.

I tend to pick my most favorite car in the world, the GTR R35. My favorite based on its looks and performance! If it is in that game, I would no doubt race it!

Am I the only one around here that picks a car that seems cool in every game and stick with it? Even if the vehicle isn't suitable for the track I still give it a go and try to win! :p
Depending on what are you exactly referring to, I usually pick a car that's good to begin with, not for the looks of it, and stick with it to the end (upgrade it if I can), the only times when I change it is when game literally requires it, but then I would stick with the second one, there are several games where you simply can't advance with the car you begin after a certain point.

Me too. As much as I have my favorites sometimes I just pick the faster ones just to get the stage over with. If I like the game that much I'll replay those stages with my favorite cars and see if I can still beat them that way.

I've discovered that what can make a racing game even more fun is picking any car. While we might have favorites, to make the game challenging you could try driving another car [one which you never would] and try to win. I do that nowadays.

For me when choosing a car, I will look at the circuit, what surface it's on, and even what the opponents are driving before I pick, and the last thing I'm bothered about is the looks.

Games are usually designed where you can use any car. Each car will have it's advantages and disadvantage. That said, there usually will be the balanced car that is usually the ideal car to use.

I'm not really into cars much, I always hear the GTR pop up in racing discussions. I hear it's actually a relatively cheap car compared to other super cars. It's really a great car for the price.

Oh for sure, I just have this sense of commitment when I pick a car for the first time, where I find it hard to switch it out for something else.

In terms of what car I first pick, I think its a mix of performance, looks, and brand. For some reason I'm always attracted to Ford cars, but then again my Father works there, so that's probably some influence.

It's always tough to switch cars once you get used to them. I like to stick to one cars for as long as possible. It depends on the game as some game require you to use different cars for different races.

Yeah, the easy example I have in my head is when I played the original Most Wanted.

I started off with a lexus car and just continued upgrading it again and again. I really grew attached to the thing, and was hesitant on giving it up, even after I got more and more of the rival racer's pink slips.

Eventually I think I switched it out for the 7th or 8th racers, as the car just looked too cool to me, but that green Lexus will always hold a certain place in my heart. It also made me more inclined to pick Lexus cars when I have the choice, even for games I play today.

My favorite car is the Nissan Skyline. I like the way it looks and the type of engine it uses. I think it uses 4 wheel drive. I saw the Skyline in the Fast and Furious movie. Every since the movie came out, I wanted to drive a Skyline. But, it probably won’t happen until I’m 35 or older.

Since I am an Engineer and love cars, I pick the car after looking at the important parameters such as top speed, acceleration and ride handling, after that I select the car which I like the most and last but not the least I choose based on the color and the looks.

The looks and the hoods of the cars don't control me. I pick up the cars with the best speed, acceleration, handling and then I customize the cars. By this way, I create amazing cars in any game with the perfect combination of performance as well as looks.
Wow! that's exactly what I was going to write. For me, it's acceleration.

That's my second favourite car! What a co-incidence!

That's a good thought. I also chose the color most of the times.
