Let's debate about the expected requirements

Well, currently I am saving some money, so I can buy myself 8 gigs of ram sometime this or the next year hopefully. I've realized that even games that require 4 GB could use a bit more, because it gets filled with all sorts of data. Let's say I can get 20€/30$ out of selling these sticks, how much do I need to add to get 8 GB? Someone sent me a newegg link, it was Team Zeus Red 2x4 GB for 65$, it was a great offer but they don't ship to my country, which is a shame. I wanted to get that RAM, but what else could you guys recommend me?

I got the ps3 version of the game and it looked fine to me. I guess for all the bells and whistles you need to get an upgraded PC. The first person view will probably eat a lot of resources. I can guarantee that.

All of that is good except for RAM. I only have 4 GB of ram, but everything else is a bit better than the minimum requirements, and my graphics card is better than the recommended one as well. Only problem for me is the amount of RAM that I have. I have to upgrade to at least 8 GB, and I have to start saving for it.

Im getting more ram too Im looking for an over kill since now I have 6GB and im going up to 12GB and extra 6 of the same ram sticks are pretty cheap. Its gonna be fun First person 60 FPS

Those bells and whistles are the heavy eaters that will take the bulk of the resources. That draw distance and extra details added to the game make for tons of on screen action and considering so many tiny little intricate details that the game has its no surprise really.

I'm not too surprised at those requirements. It's such a rich game and anything lower would have been much more surprising to me. I think it's definitely worth an upgrade to anyone who is wanting to do it for the game because it's just so full and well made that it warrants it instead of just being due to the graphics which most other games rely on.

I agree with you man Im just glad I only need a little bit more ram for the max. Im playing the ps4 version now and Its very noticeable difference from the ps3 version. I can only imagine the PC with all the added benefits as well as the MODS a "real world graphics" mod will take this game to the next level of perfection.

I wouldn't go as far to call Rockstar bad developers. They're sort of the kings of making gold out of crap. They push the limits with what ever they have.
I didn't mean they're bad, I meant they're terrible at PC ports and system optimization. Look at GTA 4 for example, not even that good looking and runs like garbage.

Well, those requirements are a bit high compared to the other releases, but then again, Rockstar always shat on PC players, making horrid ports and then blaming the poor sales on piracy. It's sad, really, because they really don't realise that they could earn much more from the PC market if they would port games well.

I am with you on that, they really are horrible at optimizing and porting. GTA IV was a disaster. It wasn't all that great-looking, and it demanded a power-plant instead of a PC. It needed too much horsepower for graphics that aren't deserving all that power. The graphics were cool and kind of realistic, sure, but if the game was ported better, the system requirements would have been A LOT lower than they are, and they would indeed sell a lot more copies on PC. Nobody will buy your game if it's known to run horribly on decent machines.

My rig will eat those system requirements. I'm all set for the game to release on PC, and I'm not worried about the requirements because I'm running an overpowered system. I dabble in intensive graphics applications, so I have an excuse. ;]

I haven't seen the PS4 version yet but you're right. The PC version will probably be way more impressive and also I can't wait to see what the players come up with. I know PC gamers have been waiting a while to get their hands on this game.

I hope the long wait is due to them perfecting the controls and the overall experience of the game. I have tons of faith in RockStar they have never let me down unlike UBIS#!T who has lost my business for ever I will never buy anything else they put out.

I hope so, too. The last game (GTA IV) was very badly optimized. However, I think the Episodes from the Liberty City one ran a lot better on the same machine, for me. Even tho, it was a bit more sparkly, but it was better optimized. I hope they optimize this game good, because I didn't play a good GTA game since San Andreas, which is my favorite. GTA IV was fun and it was good, but it just wasn't it, it didn't feel like a GTA game, there wasn't the GTA freedom of movement and there weren't many things to do, honestly. Let's hope they make the most out of the game before releasing it.

I hope they learn from their last mistake with GTA IV. If they make a good port this time, a budget PC build should be able to run the game just fine, I am talking about something like a 750ti+g3258. My current build is an i5-3330 and a 7850, and I am confident that I will be able to run it on at least high. I might not be able to max it out, but I shout be able to run it on high.

I think it would need at least an i3 and GTX 780 to play the game smoothly. GTA IV was really taxing on PC and I am afraid that things are going to be the same with GTA V as well. I just hope that it will be a better port than the last one.
