I definitely would like to see that actually. If they made some sort of MOBA style GTA I think that would be great because there are lots of elements that they could put a spin on to differentiate themselves from all the usual MOBA / MMO tropes.

I can't really imagine a GTA MOBA game, but I can see it becoming an MMO. Hell, GTA Online is basically an MMO, but with its population divided in small groups. They have it all set up, they just have to add an actual story to Online. And no, the missions in which you just grab a car and get it to a location or the heists (which are pretty lackluster in my opinion) don't count.

I think making a story in online mode might be a bit tricky if it involves other people being involved in the mission, but then again there would not be a point to the online play if there was no interaction with the other players...

I'm not sure how it could work at all.

Yeah they can definitely do more to beef up the experience though personally I'd rather they just spend more effort on a spinoff rather than just an online version of GTAV.

It almost is a console based MMO. I've not played much of it at all but that is the general impression I get from it.

I'm not quite sure how that would work. Would Rockstar have to do something like Destiny, where they'd constantly update new stories or missions? That would require being constantly being connected to the internet or excessive DLC, which might cause data problems. I still think a finite story would suffice, so long as we're given a lot to do in between or after the story.

I agree. I know GTA and its missions are always heavily based on story but I tend to skip cutscenes anyway so I'd be alright with just having additional missions or just additional new content in general.

That's an awesome idea but eventually, people are gonna probably find many hacks and glitches and stay at the top. But still not a bad idea though, it would be nice to see how each player creates their own reality.

I don't think they can handle a story that never ends. The players need to have gratification, and an ending after all their hard work would validate their gaming and all the time they had spent completing the story. Without a solid ending, people would, in my opinion, just get bored with the game since the ending would be out of their reach, and it's just one mission after another. Sounds boring, am I right?

I kinda agree, the worst part of any game is the main story and the missions ending, and finding yourslef with nothing but meaningless jobs to do to get more money and achievements. I suffered withdrawal from Mass Effect, The Last of Us, and I haven't finished GTA V because I want to take my time, but yeaaah... not looking forward to that. Perhaps adding custom missions that players can make and add to the server?

Exactly. Or, just add more missions as part of a DLC. I do enjoy playing online, but I understand a lot of people can't or simply don't want to because of its often times toxic community of trolls. Add more missions, put in more content. They certainly have the resources and knowledge to do so.

Its impossible for them to make infinite content, unless it was randomly generated like the sidequests in Skyrim, but that tends to be very bland.

The only way I can see them doing something like this is through the random events system, much like how it works now really.

You get a call from your crew saying a rival gang is attacking, you get to the area and help fend off waves of rivals until the time runs out or something.
I would also love to really see this happen.

I think infinite story line like no man's sky. That's something we can think of in many ways. But it may not add much value from what we are seeing as of now. It seems like a good thing.

No Man's Sky is randomly generated AFAIK. That is part of the reason why it sucks.
