If you loved Gran Turismo then you are going to like this.

The release date of Gran Turismo Sport which is exclusively coming to PS VR has been leaked.

A German site called psinside have discovered a rather interesting piece of information which puts Gran Turismo Sport's and PlayStation VR's releases as October 12. It certainly makes a lot of business sense for a behemoth like Gran Turismo to release alongside the new VR hardware so this may not be too hard to swallow.
Well GT fans, you won't have to wait too long for the game.

Sounds amazing, I really hope they do a good job with the VR experience as this could be a good positive for the GT franchise as well amongst the new gamers.

Gran Turismo 3 was a great game. You can buy cars from foreign countries. You can race on dirt or pavement. Gran Turismo is one of the best simulator driving games. The best part, you can tune your car like a real garage. You can make some cars go as fast as vipers if you can get the parts. If you want to play Gran Turismo is good game to play.

I have high hopes for it and now I'm doubly excited for it with the playstation VR release. Is the sport just an expansion of GT 6? I know GT 7 is set to be released next year.

Take a look at this:

I think it's reasonable to assume that something else might come down the road. Is it a Prologue? No, I think it'll be more than that.

Gran Turismo Sport will have three separate modes, with 'Campaign', 'Sports Mode' and 'Arcade Mode' all featuring. There'll be a focus on online racing, with virtual championships that will be officially recognised by motorsport's governing body the FIA.
I don't think it will be an expansion of GT 6.

It's about time Sony started to compete again in the racing scene, Driveclub just wasn't enough...

But we've all already been talking about VR and racing, and here theres a game developed exclusively for it, I definitely have high hopes. If theres one thing PS4 can do well, it's to have good graphics (though tbh I've never tried the ps4 VR).

It's quite interesting when they say these competitions will be recognized by the FIA, does anyone else have more info on it?

I am so excited for all of the advancements in VR gaming! I love how it is now pretty affordable and under $300 a system. I just want one now! I have to save up and maybe buy myself a few games this Christmas!

I haven't heard much about this. Do they mean the game itself is recognized by the FIA or actual leagues you play online will be overseen by the FIA. I think they just mean the game and any of the single player cups are made official by the FIA. That is my guess.

I'm pretty interested to see VR in action, so far Gran Turismo is the only game (at least from what I've read) that announced Virtual Reality support. Hopefully more will follow.
The game comes out pretty quick also. Only 4 months?

While I think we're all excited to see just how Gran Turismo Sport turns out, I'm not sure if it's going to sell all that well with it being the VR version of the game.

Sony might say it's more than a add on of Gran Turismo 6, but with Gran Turismo 7 being set for release next year, I'm not sure how they can say that it isn't.

I've never been that into gt but I admit it does look good so I am curious about what the new VR version will bring. I'm sure my friends who all love the realistic type of racing will love this

I don't think it matters with this game if you like the previous games in the series or not as the whole new VR angle will get people buying and playing it just to experience what tge VR is going to bring.

I just hope that people don't expect too much as we have to realise this IS whole new technology in regards to games.

It was one of the most amazing games I ever played and I agree that it was an awesome game. I would recommend everyone to play the third part of the game.

The VR aspect is what has me the most excited about this. I've always liked GT, but I'm really excited to see how VR improves that experience.

Gran Turismo 7 is still on the list for release next year and so I think the main reason people will buy this version is solely down to the VR aspect of the game.

If VR wasn't included, I highly doubt that this game in the series would be getting as much attention as it is doing at the moment anyway.

Racing games are all in it for the realism. I can't blame them though, I mean it's the only thing you can outdo that competing games have, because at the end of the day it's still a racing game, you start together, and see who crosses the finish line first. It's that simple, and there's really nothing you can do about it to make it more fun. If you want to add obstacles in the races, then it would turn off the people looking for realism, and a simulation to real world races, while if you stick to it, you will also turn off people who are looking to have a bit more fun in the racing games. It's a lose-lose situation, basically.

Will the gaming experience be improved. Most certainly but because they are rushing the game I'm sure there are many who'll find the game disappointing once the novelty of racing in VR wears off. Good thing though is Gran Turismo 7 which gets released next will hopefully be much better.
